plist

plist files are Apple config proprietary file format. It serves a similar purpose as the registry on Windows, but the files are scattered across the file system instead.

Magic 🪄: bplist00

Since plist files are binary, one needs a tool to convert them to something more readable.

📘 plutil -convert xml1 Info.plist # turns .plist file into an xml one.

💡 Write or find a tool that collects all the plist files and presents them in a similar to reg.exe way.
